At In Focus Hub, we offer photography workshops designed to help people develop creative skills, learn how to use their camera, and gain confidence through hands-on photography activities.

Our workshops are available for NDIS participants and members of the community, with learning options tailored to suit different needs and learning styles. Sessions focus on practical learning in a relaxed and supportive environment, where participants can explore photography while building technical skills and creative confidence.

Workshops are offered as private one-on-one lessons or small group sessions, depending on the program.

Private One-on-One Sessions

Our photography workshops for NDIS participants are delivered as private one-on-one sessions, allowing for a personalised and supportive learning experience.

Sessions are delivered at a comfortable pace with clear step-by-step instruction and practical hands-on activities. The focus is on building confidence, encouraging creativity, and developing practical photography skills in a relaxed environment.

Each workshop is tailored to the participant’s individual interests, learning style, and pace.

Session Duration:
3 to 5 hours

Workshops may include:

  • Learning how to use a camera or smartphone camera

  • Understanding basic photography settings and controls

  • Composition and creative image making

  • Practical photography activities and guided exercises

  • Developing confidence through creative expression

These workshops may be funded through the participant’s NDIS plan where applicable.


Community Photography Workshops

Private One-on-One Sessions

Our community one-on-one photography lessons are ideal for individuals who would like personalised instruction and focused learning.

These private sessions allow participants to learn at their own pace while receiving direct guidance tailored to their camera, experience level, and photographic interests.

Community Photography Workshops

Small Group Workshops

Community participants also have the option to organise private small group workshops with friends or family members who would like to learn photography together.

Participants are welcome to form their own group, creating a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment where everyone can explore photography while developing new skills.

Group workshops are offered at reduced group rates while maintaining small class sizes to ensure quality instruction and individual attention.

These workshops are offered on demand and are arranged directly by participants who wish to learn together in a group setting. Once a group has been formed, a suitable workshop time can be scheduled.


Advanced Photography Workshop

This advanced workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience the complete photographic process from digital image to finished gallery artwork.

Delivered at NIKART Studio & Gallery, this workshop guides participants through the professional workflow used to transform a single digital photograph into a large, display-ready photographic artwork.

Participants will begin with one selected photograph that has already been prepared and chosen for printing. During the workshop, the image will be carefully refined and prepared in Adobe Photoshop to ensure it is fully optimised for professional output.

Participants will then continue through the production stages, learning how professional photographers produce exhibition-quality prints, including the preparation, printing, and final presentation of a photographic artwork.

By the end of the workshop, each participant will complete the entire process and leave with one professionally printed and finished photographic artwork ready for display.

Workshop Experience

Participants will be guided through the following stages:

• Preparing a digital photograph for professional printing
• Image refinement and print preparation in Photoshop
• Understanding resolution, colour, and print output
• The professional printing process
• Artwork presentation and finishing techniques

Workshop Format

This workshop is delivered as two 3-hour studio sessions.

Session 1 – Image Preparation and Print Production

Participants will refine and prepare their selected photograph in Photoshop and learn how professional images are prepared for large format printing. The photograph will then be printed using professional printing methods.

Session 2 – Presentation and Finishing

Participants will complete the presentation stage of the process, learning how photographic artworks are finished through professional framing or canvas stretching techniques.

Your Finished Artwork

Each participant will produce one finished photographic artwork, choosing between:

Framed Fine Art Print
Finished size: 68 cm × 86 cm

or

Stretched Canvas Print
Finished size: 82 cm × 110 cm

Both options are professionally produced and presented ready for display.

$895 per participant

The workshop includes:

• Professional instruction
• Image preparation guidance in Photoshop
• Professional printing of the participant’s photograph
• Framing or canvas stretching
• One finished photographic artwork ready to take home

Prerequisite

Participants must have one completed digital photograph ready for printing.

This workshop is designed for photographers who have already captured and selected an image and would like to experience the professional process of producing a finished photographic artwork.
